ARPITA SHANBHAG
President
A junior from Emerald High School, Arpita Shanbhag, brings her passion for building confidence, curiosity, and a community among the next generation of learners. STEM is more than equations and coding – it has the power to tell stories that would remain hidden. She finds joy in teaching and volunteering with younger students in workshops or other service efforts and strongly believes that STEM is the key to unlocking the full potential of all curious minds. Arpita hopes others will eventually see her vision one day.

SERENA KOOPMANS
Creative Director
Serena Koopmans is a senior at Burlingame High School, where she demonstrates her passion for STEM through her leadership roles on the robotics team and in the Artificial Intelligence Club. She enjoys surfing, exploring new places, and thrifting in her free time. She loves spreading STEM education to younger students!

ALEX TERNATE
Co-Programs Director
Alex Ternate is a freshman in college who is passionate in pursuing biology, chemistry, and mathematics to contribute and innovate medicine through research and laboratory work with the end goal of becoming a pediatric oncologist! In his free time, he loves to play piano, cook, and read up on his favorite series week to week. Alex loves to teach individuals all about the sciences and math so they can articulate their interests in STEM related subjects while also learning more about them himself.

Anish Ravi
Co-Programs Director
Anish Ravi is a sophomore at John P. Stevens High School in New Jersey. With a strong interest in engineering and architecture, he’s passionate about exploring how STEM shapes the world. Some of Anish’s hobbies are breakdancing and Hip Hop. Dedicated to his community, Anish teaches his native language at his school, an experience that inspired him to become a workshop facilitator at STEMpathize. He’s excited to share his love for STEM with students and help spark their curiosity and creativity.

Roma Singh
Outreach Director
Roma Singh is currently a junior at Monte Vista High School. She is passionate about empowering youth in STEM. Her favorite subjects are biology and math, but she also enjoys leadership and is part of the leadership program at her school. In Roma’s free time, she likes to dance, listen to music, and watch K-dramas.

MIMI LIU
Co-Public Relations Director - Website
Mimi Liu is currently a senior at Oakland High School. She loves to play basketball, hangout with friends, and play video games. She’s very interested in computer science, specifically software engineering. Her goal at STEMpathize is to help students get exposed to different opportunities in the STEM field by updating and designing the website.

Diya Bhatt
Co-Public Relations Director - Social Media
Diya Bhatt is a junior at Woodbridge Academy Magnet School. Her favorite subject is biology, as she loves to learn new things, even things not school related. When she’s not doing school work, she loves to hang out with her friends, read, listen to music, or watch TV. She is very excited to work with a team and help others enjoy STEM!

SIENNA WONG
Blog Director
Sienna Wong is a senior at Monte Vista High School, with the hope of marrying her passion for writing and deep fascination of science as a blog writer for STEMpathize. She is a dedicated cross country and track runner, and has cultivated a deep love for writing and reading throughout her life. She is often found swimming, running, baking, or disappearing into her room after a particularly book-abundant trip to the library. She hopes to connect with students creatively, on a more personal level through writing during her time with STEMpathize.

Marley Han
STEM Kit Director
Marley is a junior at Tenafly High School. She is on her school's Colorguard team and debates both in and outside of school. She is interested in both law and how science is key to explaining everything around us. Her main goal at STEMpathize is to help and encourage students to pursue science in a way that is simple and fun!

ADAM ANDERSON
STEMpathize Adult Supervisor
Adam Anderson is a Math and Product Development teacher at Los Altos High School. He currently teaches AP Statistics, Design and Prototyping, and Design and Fabrication, a larger scale product development class. He has previously taught AP Calculus and Geometry at Los Altos High School. Adam has a Masters degree in Environmental Science and product development experience from his years in the toy industry. He has also had experience in clerical support for a legal office, retail management, toy invention and innovation, quality control/ quality assurance, and environmental field research before returning to his first academic love and becoming a Math teacher.
